Where are you located?

Miramichi River Boat Tours is conveniently located at Ritchie Wharf in downtown Miramichi. 

How long are the boat tours?

Each tour last 90 minutes.  The first 45 minutes includes a historical interpretation of sites as we sail past.  The last 45 minutes is reserved for you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Miramichi River as we return to the wharf.

Where do the tours go?

Our main tour begins at the Ritchie Wharf and sails eastward down the Miramichi River for 45 minutes.  Most times, that takes us to the former Town of Chatham before we turn around and return to our point of departure.

Our other popular route is usually an evening tour lasting 90 minutes that takes us "up" the Miramichi River to the former Village of Nelson-Miramichi, through the "tickle" and around Beaubear Island.  This tour includes sailing under the historical Morrissy Bridge and may not be available during periods of high tides.

Other routes are available for charter tours and are arranged in consultation with Capt Haché.

Are tours bilingual?

Yes. Miramichi River Boat Tours is fully bilingual.

How much does the tour cost?

These prices are from Ritchie Wharf.  Pick-ups and departures from other wharves may include a fuel surcharge.

Adults - $20.00

Students - $15.00

Children under 6 years of age accompanied by a parent - No Charge

What method of payment is accepted?

Miramichi River Boat Tours accepts cash, cheques and e-transfers.  We do not operate a debit/credit card machine.

Are group rates available?

Is a down payment required?

No down payment is required for individuals or larger groups.

Are reservations required?

Reservations are not generally required but booking ahead will ensure your seat on tours

How do I reserve my booking?

Email your request to Capt Haché at jrhache06@hotmail.com

Include the following information:

  1.  Your name
  2.  Your telephone number, including area code 
  3.  Date you would like to reserve
  4.  Time you would like to reserve - our regular tour is at 2:00 pm daily weather permitting.   We also have tours at 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
  5.  Number of adults and children in your party 

NOTE:  We require a minimum of 10 adult passengers for each tour.

You can also drop into any New Brunswick Visitor Information Centre and they’ll be glad to help you make your reservation.

Are there refreshments on board?

There are refreshments on board consisting of bottled water, pop by the glass, some popular brands of beer, and limited mixed drinks.  Potato chips and Cheese Sticks are sometimes available as well.

Can I bring food and drink aboard?

Yes, any snacks or non alcoholic beverages may be carried aboard.

Is there a restroom available?

There is a restroom on the boat.  As well, there are restrooms located under the canopy on the wharf adjacent to our dock.

How many passengers does the boat carry?

The Max Aitken tour boat is licensed to carry up to 50 persons on each tour.

Are lifejackets provided?

Yes. The Max Aitken is a fully certified, Transport Canada approved tour boat that provides lifejackets and all other safety equipment.

Is there parking at the wharf?

Yes. Ritchie Wharf provides visitors with lots of free parking, restaurants and other amenities.  NOTE: Parking space may be at a premium between 6-9 PM.
